 Veterinary Technicians

Shannon Walters, CVT

Shannon earned her degree in Veterinary Technology at Brevard Community College. She chose to become a veterinary technician when she realized how much she enjoyed working with animals in the health care field. She has been with Crater Animal Clinic since December of 2006. Shannon has 2 black labs named Sadie and Dozer and enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and spending time with friends.

 Ashley McCauley, CVT

Ashley joined the Crater Animal Clinic team in the  Fall of 2013. She graduated the Vet Tech program at PIMA Medical Institute in 2010 and also earned her degree in occupational Science. She loves working with animals and their owners. She enjoys spending her time with her four children and has three dogs. She enjoys reading, horseback riding and watching football.

Veterinary Assistants

Anna Allred – Large Animal Assistant/Reception

Anna joined the Crater Animal Clinic team in November of 2009. She graduated from Crater High School in 2006 and began working in the veterinary field during her senior year. She has two horses that she likes to compete on in trail and gaming events, two dogs and two cats and a goat. She enjoys spending her time outdoors with her boyfriend Scott fishing, hiking, and riding her horses in the sun!

Johanna Straw – Large Animal Assistant

Johanna is the newest member of the Crater Large Animal Team. She was born and raised in the Rogue Valley. She attended Blue Mountain Community College on a rodeo scholarship, where she obtained her Applied Science Degree in Livestock Production. She is now back in the valley to continue with Veterinary Technician schooling. She has a Mini Australian Shepherd named Dallas, a Blue Heeler named Kip, a Quarter Horse Mare named Salty, and a Quarter Horse Gelding named Split. In her free time she enjoys participating in rodeo events such as team roping and barrel racing.

Kayla Whisenhunt – Small Animal Assistant

Kayla joined the Crater Animal Clinic team in the summer of 2013. She was born in Oregon but spent time as a child in Texas. She likes to oil paint, bake and horseback ride. She grew up playing soccer and currently is an assistant coach for a local team. She has one dog named Fiona and is currently attending college to be a vet assistant with a long term goal of being a NICU nurse.

Jaime Lyn Myers – Small Animal Assistant

Jaime Lyn was born in Southern California, moved to Southern Oregon in 2008, and was married in 2009. She lives with Camille and Ella, her 2 Arabian mares, Boomer and Justice, her 2 donkeys, Red the mule, her Labrador Riley, and 2 Australian Shepherds Bandit and Chase. Last but not least, Amelia the cat who she rescued when she was a 4 week old kitten. Jaime Lyn was working as a Vet Tech at the time, which she has been doing since 2010.  She enjoyed showing her mare Camille while she was a Junior horse, now she shows her Australian Shepherds in obedience as well as spending time with all her critters.

Lori Lawrence – Receptionist

Lori started working at Crater Animal Clinic in June of 2007 after moving here from California.  She became involved in the veterinary industry because she loves working with clients and their animals.  Lori has two children, two horses, three dogs and three cats.

Lauralee Sweet – Receptionist

Lauralee joined the Crater Animal Clinic team in the Fall of 2013. Lauralee is a native Oregonian who grew up in Klamath Falls.  She is a graduate of Crater High and Southern Oregon University, she has experience in animal health and dog training.  Lauralee likes to go camping and riding the dunes with her husband Bill and her son Brandon.  They have parakeets, pet chickens, and a Golden Retriever.

Joli Hobbs – Receptionist

Joli was born and raised in the Rogue Valley, graduated from Butte Falls High School in 2013, and joined the Crater Animal Clinic Team in October of 2014.  She was involved in the 4-H program for 9 years where she received Reserve Champion Light Weight Market hog and Reserve Champion Senior Showman.  In her free time she coaches high school volleyball, Cal Ripken softball, and plays co-ed and women’s slow-pitch softball.

Andrea Elrod – Boarding

Andrea was born in Portland but has lived most of her life in the Medford area. She received a bachelor’s in Biology from Southern Oregon University and joined the Crater team in October 2006. She enjoys the challenge and change in the veterinary field and loves learning new things. Her goal is to become a veterinarian and continue her learning. In her spare time she loves reading.

Diana Inkley, CVT

Diana was born and raised on a farm in the Rogue Valley and attended Crater High School. She has successfully show Arabian horses since the late ’70’s and enjoys showing English Setters as well. Diana has been working in the field of veterinary medicine since 1983 and joined the Crater Animal Clinic team in 2001.

Diana and her husband Sam have a son, Christian. She currently has 2 horses, 1 dog and 3 cats. Diana enjoys spending time hunting, camping and showing livestock with her family. She is also involved in the community with 4-H and FFA activities, especially with swine and sheep.


Shari Foster

Shari has been the bookkeeper here at Crater Animal Clinic since March 2011. She has spent the last 20 years working with many small businesses both locally and in her home town of San Jose, California. She moved to Southern Oregon in 2007 with her husband and daughter. They are avid animal lovers and their fur family consists of: two dogs, three cats, five chickens and one little bird that flew into their garage and refused to leave. She loves the outdoors and spends her leisure time camping and paddle boarding.
